Each year, more than 800 000 cyclists take this bike trail, which goes through the regions Pays de la Loire and Centre Val de Loire and follows the Cher in Savonnières. In the heart of the Loire Valley – a UNESCO World Heritage – it allows tourists to discover a wide variety of aspects of the Touraine. In the course of kilometres, the banks of the Loire and the Cher reveal some unexpected places and landscapes of pure beauty. Cycling to discover them remains a very pleasant and magic moment.
Located at the confluence of the Loire and the Cher, Savonnières is the perfect place to enjoy the most beautiful landscapes of the Touraine on a secured itinerary. The route is marked in both ways. The campsite of the Confluence is directly accessible from the cycling route as well as the shops, the post office and the ATM. You may also take a break and visit the Saint Gervais and Saint Protais church or the petrifying caves. And why not taking the chance of a little trip on the Cher with the Boatmen of the Cher?
